Hi, I'm Tom.

I'm a software developer based in Sydney, Australia, and like many people, I spent years uploading photos to Flickr only to discover that actually looking at them was surprisingly difficult.

I wanted a simple way to display my photo library on a screen without subscriptions, complicated setup guides, or sacrificing a weekend to configure it. After searching for the perfect solution and not finding one, I did what any stubborn software engineer would do:

I built one.

What started as a Flickr photo display grew into BitGallery, a small device that makes it easy to enjoy your photos again instead of leaving them buried inside cloud storage.

Today, BitGallery can display photos from:

• Flickr
• Google Photos
• USB drives
• And working on displaying from a network drive too!

The unexpected bonus was that my wife absolutely loves it! In fact, she regularly tells me it's the best thing I've ever built 😀.

Because I also dislike wasting electricity almost as much as I dislike complicated software, BitGallery can automatically turn itself off when nobody is home. That means less energy consumption and fewer photons being emitted for absolutely no audience.
